 | Countryside and Windfarms by tiabunna This photo was taken from the TGV, enroute to Tours, as we flashed through what appeared to be wheatfields. Coming from Australia, where ongoing droughts have left much of the country very brown, it was fascinating to see how insanely green was the French countryside. Zürich Things To Do | |
 | Fluntern by yumyum This part of town is one of the best, where lots of well off people live. Needless to say, that it is on a hillside with evening sun. The 1st photo shows the oldest building in the center of Fluntern which was originally built before 1650. Later they wanted to redevelopp the area but protest from the citizens of Zurich was so fierce that they actually voted in 1963 to save it for good. The old church was inaugurated on 5th June 1763. Kissimmee, Florida – What do you think?
This month, we’ve got a new ad partner - the Kissimmee, Florida Convention and Visitors Bureau who is showing off some of their area travel activities on our Kissimmee Top 10 page. My brother lives in Florida, and I’ve visited a bunch of times, but I’ve never been to Kissimmee, so I’m wondering from VT’ers who know the place, what I should expect to see and do if I visit. If you haven't read up on this wild adventure across the Caucasus Mountains, go to CaucasianChallenge. It’s an exciting and whacky race starting in Budapest, Hungary on August 30 and concluding September 15 in Yerevan, Armenia. The team representing VirtualTourist will be handing out special picture cards as they meet members, and potential members, along the way. So, if you’re anywhere in the vicinity, please cheer on our group as it crosses eleven countries on its way to the finish line. We hope the new team carries on the tradition set by the victors of the Autorickshaw Challenge of 2008 led by our own General Manager, Giampiero Ambrosi.
The Caucasian Challenge and Autorickshaw Challenge is sponsored by the same charitable organization.
